We are often asked about how we got our name, here is our story. Back in 1947, our great Uncle James decided to open a hardware store in Huntington Park, California.
Not only did this original store carry typical hardware items but they also sold sporting goods, fishing tackle and outboard motors, which fit perfectly into our family’s fishing obsession.
Long about 1960 when Southern California’s new housing market was really beginning to thrive, James and his partner Pete moved the store here to La Habra in Orange County. We built 2 buildings on our corner to service the construction trade. “Salt Lake Supply” which we now affectionately call “The Mill”, and our iconic Hardware Store. Over time, the business has changed some, but we like to refer to ourselves as “Old School”. We believe in old time values, service, and quality. It is the way our uncle first started the business, and we happily follow his lead to this day.
